Design. Route. Build.

Daedalus is a schematic and PCB editor built for performance and easy workflow.

Why Daedalus

Built to get out of your way.

Four things we refuse to compromise on.

Very fast

A GPU-drawn canvas and checks that run on background threads. Big boards open, pan and refill without the spinner.

Responsive

Hover, drag and route at well under a frame. The design rule check follows the cursor, so a clearance problem shows before you click.

Integrated

One design, many views. A part is one object: symbol, footprint and 3D body. The schematic and board can't drift apart.

User friendly

Plain-English messages, right-click menus that say what they do, and every change one Ctrl+Z away, with a history you can scroll.

Speed

Measured, not promised.

These are from Daedalus's own benchmark and from opening a real ten-layer board: 22,151 tracks, 8,045 pads and vias, 158 pours.

  • Design checks and pour refills run on worker threads, never on the window.
  • The window sleeps when nothing moves, so it's quiet on a laptop battery.
  • Gerbers are compared against a reference tool's output on real boards before each release.

Tour

From the first symbol to the fab files.

Every picture here is the real app, captured by its own test mode.

Claude's panel beside the PCB, offering to connect through Claude Desktop or Claude Code

Claude, built in

A second pair of eyes that can hold the mouse.

Connect your own Claude plan and it can read the live design, explain a DRC error, look up parts and datasheets, place footprints and route nets.

  • Every edit shows live and is one undo step.
  • Design reviews mark findings on the schematic and board.
  • Works with Claude Desktop and Claude Code, or an API key in the panel.

Everything in one window

The tools you need, without the plug-ins.

Schematic

Hierarchical sheets, multi-unit parts, power symbols and labels, ERC and a live netlist.

Routing

Push-and-shove and walkaround, 45° and arcs, differential pairs, length tuning, fanout and gloss.

Live DRC

Clearances, net classes and custom rules checked while you work, with each problem pointed out on the board.

Up to 32 layers

A stackup wizard with fab presets, plane nets, and blind, buried and micro vias.

Copper pours

Priorities, thermal reliefs, teardrops, keepouts and stitching vias, refilled in the background.

3D view

Mask colour and finish, plated holes, part bodies from footprints, or your own OBJ models.

Fab output

Gerber X2, Excellon, BOM, pick-and-place for JLC, PDFs and a built-in Gerber viewer.

PCB calculator

Impedance, current, vias, delay and crosstalk from your fab's stackup, written into net classes.

Antennas

Printed antennas placed on the board and set up for openEMS field simulation.

Bring your work

Open projects from KiCad and other tools. Import parts from LCSC and SamacSys.

Library

IPC-7351B footprints generated for you, a footprint wizard, and symbol and footprint editors.

Make it yours

30 built-in themes or your own colours, custom keys, and selection filters.

FAQ

Questions.

Which platforms does it run on?

Windows first. Other platforms will follow once the Windows release is solid.

How much will it cost?

Pricing isn't set yet. The whole Daedalus idea is for a friendly, cheaper than market alternatives license without making your projects hostage. People on the waitlist will hear first, before it's public.

Can I open my projects from other tools?

Yes. Daedalus imports KiCad projects, including their custom design rules, and a few other formats, others are on the way.

Do I need Claude to use it?

No. Daedalus is a complete editor on its own. Claude is optional, and uses your own Claude plan or API key; nothing about your design is sent unless you ask Claude something.
